For frontline workers or volunteers who need to use interpreters

This training is run by our Clinical Director, Dr Katherine Cox, and an interpreter with many years of experience of working with non-English speakers.

Outline

  • Build a working alliance with the interpreter to provide the best possible connection with the client

  • Understand the three-way dynamic of working with an interpreter

  • How to work with and understand cultural and other differences when working with interpreters

  • Technical and practical considerations of working with an interpreter

  • Duty of care for the interpreter

  • Reflective practice, including small group work.
