Supervision

T E S T I M O N I A L S

“Bristol Law Centre values the supervision sessions with TFSW, allowing staff protected time and space to discuss sensitive topics that could affect their work and wellbeing; exploring their feelings and sharing practical tips to manage their emotions (something that can often be overlooked when running a busy caseload). It has been well received by all participants and Katherine has been an excellent facilitator, understanding the specific needs of our team and supporting us through challenging events.”

Gina Jones, Head of Services, Bristol Law Centre

“In providing external, trauma-informed, specialist supervision, TFSW have created a safe, therapeutic space for our team to process some of the complex, challenging and upsetting issues they encounter during their work with the victims of hate crime. The expertise and guidance of the therapists has been invaluable as we navigate some tough, sensitive conversations – particularly as many of our staff have ‘lived experience’ of hate and discrimination.”

Receiving Supervision

Supervision can be invaluable for staff who work in helping professions. We offer group and 1-1 supervision with trained counsellors and psychotherapists with supervision certificates or diplomas.

Supervision can:

  • Help staff respond rather than react under pressure, so they are less likely to make mistakes as well as cutting down on absences for illness, burn-out or vicarious trauma

  • Provide a supportive atmosphere for staff to express the pleasures and difficulties in undertaking the work

  • Provide a forum to discuss the impact change brings
